The move towards an electronic NVD system has resulted in the emergence of new mobile technology aimed at improving livestock traceability.

New versions of the Livestock Production Assurance National Vendor Declaration for all species were recently released and instantly available online.

Meat and Livestock Australia awarded an eNVD license to Australian tech company AXIchain who have now become one of the only active mobile platforms as a once-stop shop for livestock movements.

The program works online and offline and integrates with transporters, agents, buyers, saleyards and processors.

As a result producers could use the program to book transport which would then notify all stakeholders in the supply chain and instantly upload the eNVD to Integrity Systems Company.

AXIchain exclusively features a QR code system that enforces data as true and accurate for all movement details, even in offline situations.

AXIchain CEO and founder Linda Woodford said the technology was a game changer for Australia’s red meat industry.

“We developed the mNVD to address the risk of paperwork errors in the livestock supply chain,” she said.

“And, to help protect Australia’s excellent reputation as an export-focused nation for providing safe, clean and natural red meat to the world.”

The mNVD app is available to download from Google Play and iTunes, or using a web browser.
