Recently I had the opportunity to purchase a small share in a racehorse that is trained in Ireland. The horse was purchased by Australian Bloodstock and syndicated in Australia to those daring to dream of having a horse in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. I went ahead and purchased a very minor share with some.

‘Grosvenor Station’ sold at Auction

The Moranbah property ‘Grosvenor Station’ sold at Auction on Tuesday to Anglo Coal. ‘Grosvenor Station’ was offered by Graham and Linda Huddy to the market with Robert Murolo from Elders handling the sale. The property consisted of 5,273 hectares (13,025 acres) with excellent improvements and water from frontages to the Grosvenor Creek and Isaac River.

NSW Government backs farmers

The New South Wales Government has introduced “right to farm” legislation which it says will create the toughest penalties for farm trespass in Australia.   Proposed NSW legislation would means activists or farm trespassers could be fined up to $22,000 or jailed for up to three years The NSW Agricultural Minister says the laws send.

Two vastly different offerings welcomed to the market

Two vastly different new offerings have come to the market this week with the re-offering of “Wollogorang Station” in the Gulf of Carpentaria and a large irrigated cropping enterprise at Mareeba in north Queensland supporting avocado and sugar cane enterprises predominantly. The Mareeba enterprise should create strong interest with the avocado industry thriving and  sugar.

Over the next month the real test will be if Gowrie Station and Nardoo Station meet with success. Smaller holdings have been snapped up in the market and quiet a lot of interest in.
